Are you wondering what comes next?

After we finish our Spiritual Renewal and Growth study we will be digging into a brand new topic.

On Monday, April 7th, I'll begin leading - Identity in Christ.

Many women wrestle with feelings of inadequacy, insecurity, or comparison. This four-week Bible study teaches women to reject societal pressures and live confidently in God's truth.

***More details are coming in the next few weeks.***

Now, let’s get back to this week’s study and finish strong!

Pressing On in the Journey

Spiritual growth is a lifelong journey, but it isn’t always easy. Challenges, doubts, and setbacks can make it tempting to give up or coast in our faith. Many of us struggle to maintain consistency in our spiritual practices or feel discouraged when growth seems slow. Yet, God calls us to persevere, trusting that He is working even when we don’t see immediate results.

Persevering in growth requires faith, patience, and reliance on God’s strength. This week, we’ll explore how trials and challenges can strengthen our faith and how we can remain steadfast in our journey of transformation.

Join me for week 4's video as we discuss this weeks study and take a deeper look at Persevering in Growth >> HERE.

Losing Momentum in Growth

It’s easy to start strong in our spiritual journey, full of enthusiasm and commitment. But over time, life’s demands, distractions, or disappointments can cause us to lose momentum. Struggles like unanswered prayers, spiritual dryness, or personal failures can leave us feeling stuck or even questioning God’s presence.

The temptation to give up is real, but so is God’s promise to sustain us. Perseverance isn’t about never struggling—it’s about continuing to trust and seek God in the midst of struggles. When we press on, we grow stronger in faith and character, becoming more like Christ.

The Power of Perseverance

Philippians 1:6 provides reassurance for the journey:

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6 NIV

This verse reminds us that spiritual growth is God’s work. He initiated it, and He will bring it to completion. Our role is to trust Him and remain committed to the process, even when it feels slow or difficult.

James 1:2-4 reframes trials as opportunities for growth:

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4 NIV

Trials aren’t obstacles to growth—they’re tools God uses to refine us. When we face challenges with faith, we develop perseverance, which leads to spiritual maturity.

Staying the Course in Faith

Perseverance requires a shift in perspective. Instead of viewing difficulties as setbacks, we can see them as opportunities to depend on God and grow in faith. Trusting that He is using every experience for our good allows us to remain steadfast, even in tough seasons.

Another key to perseverance is consistency in spiritual practices. Regular prayer, Bible study, and worship anchor us in God’s truth and provide strength for the journey. These habits don’t eliminate struggles, but they remind us of God’s presence and equip us to face challenges with faith.

Finally, perseverance is fueled by community. Surrounding yourself with fellow believers provides encouragement, accountability, and support. Sharing your journey with others reminds you that you’re not alone and that God often works through His people to strengthen our faith.

Practical Steps to Persevere in Growth

Reframe Your Challenges: Reflect on James 1:2-4 and consider how current trials might be opportunities for growth. Ask God to show you how He is working through them.

Commit to Consistency: Choose one spiritual practice—like prayer, Bible study, or worship—and commit to it daily for the next week. Consistency builds momentum and helps you stay grounded in God’s truth.

Lean on Community: Share your struggles with a trusted friend, mentor, or small group. Let others encourage and pray for you as you persevere.

Celebrate Small Wins: Recognize and thank God for progress, no matter how small. Each step forward is evidence of His faithfulness in your life.

Pray for Strength: When you feel weary, turn to God in prayer. Ask Him to renew your strength, deepen your trust, and sustain you in the journey of growth.

God’s Strength in Your Weakness

Perseverance isn’t about relying on your own strength—it’s about relying on God’s. He promises to equip and sustain you, even in the hardest seasons. Philippians 4:13 reminds us:

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13 NIV

As you press on in your spiritual growth, trust that God is with you every step of the way. He is faithful to complete the good work He began in you, and His grace is sufficient for every challenge you face. Through perseverance, you will not only grow stronger in faith but also reflect His glory more fully.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to complete the good work You have started in me. I confess that I sometimes grow weary or discouraged in my spiritual journey. Teach me to trust You in every season and to see trials as opportunities to grow closer to You. Strengthen me to persevere and remind me of Your presence and faithfulness. Thank You for Your grace and for the ways You are transforming me each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
